Passing on a funding announcement:

"DARPA has just announced an event – a webcast Proposers Day – for potential applicants to a soon-to-be-published funding opportunity that may be of interest to some affiliates of The CORE. Please consider sharing with colleagues, if/as appropriate.

A brief description of the program follows, with information about the June 8 event (preregistration is required) attached, and also available online.

The Defense Sciences Office at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is soliciting innovative research proposals for the development and deployment of automated tools to assign Confidence Scores to different Social and Behavioral Science (SBS) research results and claims. Confidence Scores are quantitative measures that should enable someone to understand the degree to which a particular claim or result is likely to be reproducible and/or replicable. The SCORE program will develop automated tools that assign explainable Confidence Scores to SBS results and claims with a reliability that is equal to, or better than, the best current human expert methods. Proposed research should investigate innovative approaches that enable revolutionary advances in science, devices, or systems. Specifically excluded is research that primarily results in evolutionary improvements to the existing state of practice."
